On Saturday 18th May, the community celebrated the grand opening of our brand-new, all-weather pitch (AWP).
Over the past few months our contractors have been hard at work completely replacing the old surface that had sadly reached the end of its life. The project has cost the trust over £100,000, which was entirely raised from the hard work and dedication of the entire voluntary team here at Mudeford Wood Community Centre over the past few years.
It was a wonderful day of celebrations, which started with the Mayor of Christchurch officially opening the AWP, followed by a performance from the wonderful Revolution Cheerleading Academy! Throughout the day we had taster sessions and demonstrations on the AWP to enable the community to try out the new facility!
There were also a variety of stalls and refreshments, and we welcomed some of our centre users, local organisations and businesses to share in the day and show off what they have to offer!
Thank you so much to all who came, and to all the amazing volunteers who made the event today possible 🎉🎾⚽️
